Welcome to a new development in the support and assistance that LawCare has been offering to members of the legal profession for many years.

Some time ago, we decided that we could not simply remain a reactive organisation, waiting for people to hit a crisis and then helping them to survive that crisis and put their lives back together again. We felt that we needed to try to arm lawyers with mechanisms for avoiding meltdown in the first place, by recognising stress in themselves, attributed by 80% of our helpline callers with an alcohol problem as being the reason they started to drink to excess in the first place. We have been achieving this by providing free (except for expenses) stress recognition and management training to thousands of lawyers a year.
However, we have now decided to take that training a step further, and to provide a means by which lawyers can assess and deal with their stressors at a time and place (office, home or both) that suits them.
You will be able to create a totally personalised and confidential assessment of the stresses in your life, from all perspectives.
Once you click into the Wellbeing area, you will be able to create a totally personalised and confidential assessment of the stresses in your life, from all perspectives. At the end of that assessment, a report will be provided, highlighting your problem areas and making recommendations for dealing with them. You will, if you wish, be able to set up triggers to your e-mail eg. reminding you to go to the gym or a relaxation class, or just to get away from your desk at lunchtime. You can choose the prompt and how often it is sent and what it says.
Your report will be kept in your confidential, password accessed area and you will be able to access it whenever you want, for as long as you want, updating your plan and assessing your progress. No one will see the results of the assessment or the reports, but you. We will just get generalised, statistical feedback, so that we can see the types of issues that are troubling people and we can direct our assistance to the areas most needed within the professions.
Please do give it a try. It takes a bit of commitment to get the assessment done, but after that, the ongoing help you receive will be more than worth the trouble.
